Within ourselves lies gold which we forgot we were born with

From birth to death our bodies continually change, our cells transform and we know that we - as well as the world we live in - can affect these transformations in a positive or negative way.

We have learnt to nurture our own health, to train and look after our bodies, to adapt our diet. In a similar manner, our minds should adapt to the reality we live in as we transform. This process occurs naturally as we go from childhood to adolescence and from adolescence to adulthood, often haphazardly and unconsciously. We are an immensely plastic and adaptable species.

Now we are coming to terms with the fact that “mental and emotional health” are essential for a well lived life.

We are starting to recognise the value of harmonising our mindset with our aspirations.

We are rediscovering that resilience, flow and ease, a tolerance for uncertainty and discomfort, are all crucial in order to direct - as much as we can - our lives.

Practices like Yoga, Tai-chi and many forms of meditation are ever more common. Visiting a therapist or psychologist, or seeking the support of a coach, are no longer considered taboo. On the contrary, they are gradually becoming recognised and deemed necessary for a life lived with intention.

There are several points along the journey of life where we may feel awkward in a way which is less tolerable than usual or last longer.

Ill at ease in our own skin, emotions and thoughts, sometimes sick or fatigued, we may feel a kind of “exile” from ourselves and from others. These points highlight that we have reached a stage where we have outgrown our own frames of thinking and acting: the paradigms of yesterday must be renewed or replaced.

At these often uncomfortable junctures pregnant with possibilities, we can choose to become agents of our transformations and consciously decide to participate in our transformations.

We become more of who we are in our own essence.

From transformation to transformation, we gradually transmute lead into gold. Recreating our lives, we impact others from a stance of inner-authority, creativity, courage and love, positively and in flow with the world.
